Ginn Recreation Area

With help from the town DPW, ARPA grants, and community volunteers, several improvements are being made to the bath house and Stone Family Playground. Look for the brand new Wee Saw to be installed in 2025!

Many community volunteers have contributed their time and treasure toward the upkeep of the facilities at Ginn. We are deeply thankful for their efforts. We will continue to seek opportunities to assist, including $5k earmarked toward resodding and irrigation.

Ginn Recreation Area is utilized by thousands of families on a year round basis. The Friends are committed to ensuring its continual improvement.

1st Annual Friends of Winchester Recreation Pickleball Tournament

40 participants had a fantastic day of pickle, which raised over $2,400! Look for the 2025 announcement coming soon!

Communications

This year, we established a new visual identity, built a new website, and focused on reintroducing the Friends to residents of Winchester. We reinvigorated our presence on social media and continue working towards establishing a cadence for public outreach.

We also continue to build bridges with other local nonprofits, committees, volunteers, Town employees, and elected Town officials. This network is critical for helping us identify priorities, which are in alignment with as many stakeholders as possible.

Year end direct appeal

There are several recreation projects/improvements on the horizon for Winchester, all of which will require multiple funding sources.

We expect to announce project specific fundraising soon in 2025 as our priorities become fully crystallized.

In the meantime, your continuing support helps to cover our operating expenses and grant funding for local entities. All donations are tax deductible and remain in the Winchester community.
